Tips & Information
An epoxy microcement floor typically has a thickness of just 2-3 mm, excluding the leveling layer. Thanks to its thin composition, this type of floor is highly flexible and suitable for both indoor spaces and outdoor terraces. Its slim profile ensures it integrates seamlessly with existing floors, requiring minimal adjustments to doors or thresholds. However, the total thickness can vary depending on the condition of the subfloor.
Quick Heating and Ultimate Comfort on Cold Days
While Spain is renowned for its sunny climate, there are days when the temperature drops. A thin epoxy microcement floor provides exceptional comfort during these cooler moments, thanks to its efficient heat transfer. The floor heats up quickly and evenly distributes warmth, making it an excellent choice for use with underfloor heating systems.
Structure of an Epoxy Microcement Floor
An epoxy microcement floor is composed of several layers. It starts with the subfloor, such as a cement screed often found in new constructions. If the subfloor is uneven, a leveling layer is applied first. The thickness of this layer depends on the subfloor’s condition.
On top of the leveling layer, the epoxy microcement floor is added. This consists of one or more colored layers, finished with a durable topcoat. In total, the floor usually comprises three to four layers.
